Generally a very successful season with outstanding performances from the 1st XI and the U12 XI. The lower school performance, winning 18 out of 22 matches proves encouraging for the future of cricket at Sinjuns. The performance of the 1st XI was the best for many years.

1ST XI: Started with a convincing victory over Strand G.S. with R. Hendricks scoring a half-century. An exciting match followed v. Archbishop Tenison's and although narrowly losing by 2 wickets, Martin Brooks bowled extremely well for 7 wickets for 10 runs. Only one other defeat followed in the course of the season and excellent wins were recorded against Henry Thornton, Wandsworth, Cardinal Vaughan, Stockwell College of Education, Heath Clark, and Salesian College. M. Brooks and I. Parham bowled well throughout the season and they, together with R. Hendricks, C. Knight, and S. Dempsey, batted well.

U15 Xl: Convincing victories were recorded over Wilson's G.S., Abp. Tenison, Westminster City, Strand G.S., and Salesian College. Excellent batting throughout the season by R. Moss, K. Wells, and P. Ayres, which was helped by fine bowling by R. Wahhab, who took over 30 wickets.

U14 XI: Indifferent batting let the U14 XI down on more than one occasion, and although often not at full strength, the team recorded good wins over Abp. Tenison, Wandsworth, Tulse Hill and Strand G.S. Douglas Stewart was the outstanding cricketer and he was ably helped by P. Barnes and J. Sethna.

U13 XI: After surprisingly losing their first match, the U13 XI went the rest of the season unbeaten and scored victories over Abp. Tenison, Westminster City, Cardinal Vaughan, Tulse Hill, Spencer Park and Salesian College. I. Khan, D. Samuels, and M. Summers batted well throughout the season, and I. Khan, M. Summers and C. Powell shared the wicket taking. The school expects much from this side.

U12 XI: Only one defeat in 13 matches, and that in the semi-final of the London Cup Competition speaks for itself. An outstanding side with S. Begley, Stuart Price, S. Wheatley and D. Elliott contributing consistent batting and Stuart Price, and S. Wheatley dominating the bowling. I am sure that they can look forward to an excellent season.

OLD BOYS MATCH: Old Sinjuns batted first and wickets fell at regular intervals until Britnell and Norman came together at 93-7. They advanced to 144-8 before the Old Boys declared their innings closed. R. Handscomb was the most successful school bowler, taking 4-12. In reply the school XI batted sensibly and although chased hard for the runs time was always against them. The school finished with 130-5 and played their best Old Boys match for many years. 1. Parham was undefeated with 50 and C. Knight scored 45, ably helped by R. Hendricks and S. Ibbs.

STAFF MATCH: Against the tight bowling of B. T. Williams and M. Meech the school team found it difficult to get runs. The opening batsmen scored 47 between them, but after Knight and Ibbs were out, only M. Brooks reached double figures with 20. The last wicket fell at 117. The Staff put up brave resistance, with D. Cullen scoring 16 before falling to a brilliant catch by R. Jackson. D. E. Thomas (14) and B. T. Williams (25) added 32 for the fifth wicket before wickets fell rather more quickly. However stout defensive work by J. P. Williams and D. de Piro foiled the school and a draw was the fair result.
