RIP Bob Taylor, just heard of his passing from his brother. The best teacher I had at Sinjuns - very empathetic to us. The "pissing in the piscine" comment was an oldie but goldie - we heard it regularly!! Looking back, he and Semmons were probably an item, but that didn't take away from the wonderful worlds they both opened for us. I came over for Alan read's reunion at Sinjuns and with Mick Hannaker, picked him up from 9 Marion Road Mill Hill and he was sharp as a whip, remembered everything from our time at school. He was one of the good guys and will be missed. PS have video of the reunion.
Gutted about 'FRITZ'.He really did seem to like kids(Good, bad and ugly).I think we were all very fond of him and dared not **** him around. He was passionate about his job and well respected for it.I'm afraid I was one of the bad/ugly that more than added to his daily work. However, he always treated one and all excactly the same.He gave everyone a fair crack of the whip(excuse the pun)...A very special teacher...R I P big fella.
-- Required --m I just got back from a visit to the UK in November. The old school is still there so I celebrateed this with a pint at the Halfway House on Battersea Bridge RD. Last time I was in the UK was 2004 so it has been quite4 a while. There have been changes OK but enough of London remains to make it still recognizable, though how long this will last I do not know! I think they have simply let too many immigrants in too quickly for the country to absorb, and then they were talking about letting millions more in! I wish England had never joined that lousy Common Market, and now I wish they would leave. Not that I have anything against the French or Poles etc who came over - good luck to them all, but I do not see where they can put them all. The price of property is out of sight - I couldm never get back to living in the UK even if I wanted to, who wants to pay half a million pounds for some little semi detached in wandworth.. I was hoping to meet up with some old Sinjuns but with the prssure of time could not manage it. I did notice that as far as I could see London was much cleaner, bettter service in cafes and restaurants, and the trains were cleaner and ran more smoothly. Thankfuly Marks and Spencer's still exist and was able to buy a cashmere cardigan - for 90 pounds. It is much more expensive in the UK than in the USA. In London the traffic is crazy, I was driven around everywhere by friends or I never would have made it. All the best to all my Sinjuns compatriots.
Extremely sad to hear about Robert Taylor's (Fritz) passing away a few months ago. No matter how strict and disciplined he was, everyone has a good word to say about him. Always remember him walking so fast with his gown flowing and shouting "Boy, pick that wrapper up and put it in the bin", as we tried to blend in with the walls and hope he had not noticed us! He was also a very good French teacher and very loyal to the School and fellow teachers.Irreplaceable man who was Mr Sinjun in my books! They don't make them like that any more!Sad loss.

Sad news about Mr R G C Taylor. A terrific teacher, fine man, great singing voice and a fine servant of the school. In my first homework he gave me 1 out of 20 and said that even that was charity. I passed O Level french a year early!! All down to Bob. Much missed May he Rest in Peace.
